Seattle – Gateway to the Pacific
Seattle also has an impressive array of museums, including the Museum of Flight, the Seattle Art Museum and the Science Fiction Museum. A trip to the top of the Space Needle allows for stunning views of Elliott Bay on one side of Seattle and of the Cascade Mountains on the other. Also downtown are the legendary Pike Place Market and the impressive Seattle Aquarium. A popular activity in Seattle is a tour of the city from one of the city’s many tour operators. These range from one-hour tours of the downtown area and trips to the Boeing factory, to full-day and even multi-day tours that take in wineries and venture out into the Pacific Northwest. Hotels can be found throughout the city, whether you are looking for a cheap but atmospheric youth hostel or something more up-market. Its coastal location means that there are several flights to and from Asia and the Pacific Rim, while it also welcomes visitors from airports across North America. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport accommodates flights from several countries, while the cheap flights to Seattle offered by discount airlines makes it a popular spot for Canadian visitors to fly out of.
