New York – The City That Never Sleeps
For many visitors, Manhattan is New York, and they have little reason to venture off the island. With some of the world’s greatest shopping, architecture and food to be experienced here, you may not even have time to visit any of New York’s other boroughs. Perhaps nothing epitomises New York more than the skyscraper, and the most famous of them all is still the Empire State Building. Consider visiting in the evening for a great night-time city view from the 86th floor observatory. The Statue of Liberty is another highlight, and one can enjoy the scenic view of the Manhattan skyline as well as viewing the statue itself. As one of the world’s top travel hubs, there are flights to New York arriving and departing almost continuously. John F. Kennedy International Airport handles most of the international flights, while La Guardia Airport is primarily dedicated to domestic flights. Cheap flights to New York can be found from many cities, particularly by flying into Newark, New Jersey, just a mere 16 miles to Manhattan. The cheap hotels in New York can be hard to find but are generally of a very good standard. If the cost of a Manhattan hotel is prohibitive, consider staying in one of the other boroughs, where the prices drop considerably.
